Tragedy stuck Lewes on Monday when a couple in their 70’s were stabbed on their doorstep during the afternoon. The married pair were assaulted in Hawkenbury Way. A 59-year old women has been arrested and the cause of the attack has not been revealed. Both the man and women were taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton with non-life threatening injuries. The woman attacker sustained injuries and was later taken into custody in Eastbourne.
