Weekend disprution on Southern Rail

There was major disruption on the Lewes to Brighton line on with electrical problems leading to the cancellation of some trains and a reduced service supplemented by a bus replacement service.
The disruption started just after lunchtime and normality did not resume until the evening.
The stations experiencing interruption were those along Ashford International, Ore, Hastings, Eastbourne, Lewes / Seaford, Falmer, Moulsecoomb, London Road (Brighton) and Brighton, and electrical supply problems near Lewes were blamed.
Southern said: "Line problem in the Lewes area. Train services between Brighton and Lewes are being disrupted due to electrical supply problems in the Lewes area.
"Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 25 minutes can be expected."
