What was meant to be a week of 126th anniversary celebrations for Lewes FC was marred by bad behaviour by some opposition fans at the Dripping Pan on Saturday.

In front of a crowd of 739, the best crowd number of this season so far, the Rooks continued their 100 per cent unbeaten home record against Wealdstone winning the match at the Dripping Pan 1-0.
The win takes the club to third place in the Rymans Premier League. Lewes won due Nic Ciardini's 17th minute penalty (a soft penalty by all accounts) but the game as a whole was rather scrappy.
However, when the whistle was blown some opposition fans (only a few mind) decided to vent their frustration at the referee and some home fans, leaving some children in tears – not really the spirit of the game, nor on a day when celebrations at the club's longetivity were planned.
Commenting on the crowd behaviour, Lewes FC General Manager Steve Duly said: "The club was disappointed with the incidents that happened during the latter stages of today's game.
"Such occurrences are few and far between in non league football and Lewes Football Club does not condone such behaviour.
"We were pleased with the management of the incidents by the club staff and we hope that this didn't spoil the club's birthday celebrations or fans' enjoyment of the match."
Meanwhile, if you are an owner you can have your say as to who should be on the board at the AGM (at the Rook Inn) on October 27 – there are three posts up for grabs as two current board members are leaving (and not re-standing) and the board have decided to create a seventh post.

It's a shame when behaviour like this happens, it does the reputation of football no favours.
