There was last minute despair for Lewes FC down at the Dripping Pan last night, when with just 13 seconds left on the clock in injury time, Eastbourne Borough scored a second goal to win against the Rooks thus ensuring the home team's exit from the Sussex Senior Cup, the first time Lewes has missed a out on a place in the semi-finals since 2008.

Simon Wormull, who has been confirmed as caretaker manager for the remainder of the season - after Steve King and the club parted 'by mutual consent' - was forced to ring the changes against the local rivals in a match that featured new keeper Pawel Szelemej. Max Howells was brought in to start and the manager of the U18s named Layton Schaaf and himself on the bench.
However, the match finished in heartache with a final score of 2-1 to Borough, thanks to that last gasp goal by the opposition's Ben Watson.
The Rooks pick themselves back up and return to league action on Saturday at the Dripping Pan when they face Canvey Island for an earlier-than-usual 2pm kick off.
Tonight there is a fans forum in the Rook Inn from 7pm where members of the board will be on hand to listen, pose questions and discuss on-and-off the field matters, should be an interesting evening given recent developments down at the Pan.
